PRESENTACIÓN:

La V edición del Festival Internacional Santiago Negro se celebrará del 24 al 27 de septiembre de 2024, en formato íntegramente presencial, en las dependencias de la Facultad de Letras de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (San Joaquín), la Facultad de Comunicación y Letras de la Universidad Diego Portales (Santiago) y del Centro Cultural de España (Providencia).

En esta ocasión, en el marco del Festival se llevará a cabo un congreso académico, que tendrá como temas los límites que el propio género posee, ya sea, literalmente, como tema de su narrativa, como exploración de diversos territorios y territorialidades y como reflexión acerca de los alcances que tiene en la actualidad mediante la hibridez con otros géneros, formatos y diversas manifestaciones, entre otros.

Así, el congreso tendrá como principales ejes de interés, pero no como únicos, las siguientes líneas:

1. Problemáticas teóricas del género: territorialidades, límites, bordes, márgenes del género negro, entre otros.

2. El crimen y sus representaciones: true crime, crónica roja, obras basadas en hechos reales, entre otros.

3. Narcomodernidades.

4. Género negro universal.

5. Género negro hispanoamericano.

6. Género negro chileno.

7. El género negro en lo audiovisual y en otros medios.

El objetivo principal del Congreso será reunir a todo tipo de especialistas y creadores que aporten nuevos puntos de vista sobre estas temáticas. Con las aportaciones de los asistentes se pretende desarrollar estas miradas dentro del estudio de la narrativa y el género negro audiovisual.

PROPUESTAS Y PLAZOS DE PRESENTACIÓN

El comité organizador convoca a la comunidad universitaria y a estudiosos, investigadores y expertos en el tema a participar mediante la presentación de ponencias en donde las intervenciones no superarán los 15 minutos.

Los interesados deberán completar un formulario que podrán encontrar AQUÍ, incluyendo un abstract o resumen de su ponencia, antes del 15 JULIO DE 2024.

CUOTAS DE INSCRIPCIÓN

Las cuotas de inscripción para comunicantes serán de $55.000 ($30.000 para estudiantes que puedan acreditar documentalmente tal condición). La gestión de estos fondos es de exclusiva responsabilidad de la Facultad de Letras de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Los cargos de transferencia serán asumidos por parte del ordenante. Además de los derechos de lectura de comunicación, el pago de la cuota de inscripción otorgará a los comunicantes un certificado digital acreditativo, con la información particular de la ponencia entregada al momento de completar el formulario respectivo.

“Frontiers, Margins, and Marginalities”

September 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2024

PRESENTATION:

The fifth edition of the International Santiago Noir Festival will be held from September 24th to 27th, 2024, in a fully in-person format, at the premises of the Faculty of Letters at Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile, the Faculty of Communication and Letters at Universidad Diego Portales and Centro Cultural of Spain (Providencia).

On this occasion, within the framework of the Festival, an academic congress will be held, focusing on the limits that the noir genre itself possesses, whether literally as a theme of its narrative, as an exploration of various territories and territorialities, and as a reflection on its current scope through hybridization with other genres, formats, and diverse manifestations, among others.

Thus, the congress’ main interest points, but not limited to, are the following:

1. Theoretical problems of the genre: territorialities, limits, borders, margins of the noir genre, among others.

2. Crime and its representations: true crime, crime report, fiction based on real events, etc.

3. Narcomodernities.

4. Universal noir genre.

5. Hispanic-American noir genre.

6. Chilean noir genre.

7. The noir genre in audiovisual and other media.

The main objective of the Congress will be to bring together all kinds of specialists and creators who contribute new perspectives on these themes. Through the contributions of the attendees, it is intended to develop these perspectives within the study of narrative and audiovisual noir genre.

PROPOSALS AND DEADLINES FOR SUBMISSION

The organizing committee invites the university community and scholars, researchers, and experts on the subject to participate by submitting papers where interventions will not exceed 15 minutes.

Interested parties must complete a form that they can find HERE, and enclose an abstract or summary of their paper, before July 15th, 2024.

REGISTRATION FEES

Registration fees for speakers will be U$60.- (U$30 for students who can document their status). The management of these funds is the exclusive responsibility of the Faculty of Letters of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Transfer charges will be borne by the payer. In addition to the rights to present at the congress, the registration fee payment will grant speakers a digital certificate, with the specific information of the paper provided in the respective form.
